Celebrate the close of Richmond’s first Invasive Species Awareness Month by joining a special volunteer event and wildflower walk at Ancarrow’s Landing on Friday, March 31st.
The volunteer invasive plant removal event will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by the wildflower walk at noon. Please be on time. We have expanded volunteer capacity for this special event, but please register at Hands On Greater Richmond.
Join JRPS invasive plant management staff, JRPS Invasive Plant Task Force members, and other volunteers to make more progress on the ongoing removal of invasive vines and shrubs and freeing of trees, the first step toward restoring healthier habitat. This gives indigenous species the opportunity to thrive, including the spring wildflowers–some of the same species first photographed by Newton Ancarrow more than fifty years ago–you will enjoy on our wildflower walk beginning at noon.
For the volunteer event, register here.
