RISAW: All About Aquatic Invaders

Join us as we celebrate the 3rd annual RISAW, Richmond Invasive Species Awareness Week.

Our partners at James River Association invite you to join them at the James A. Buzzard River Education Center or virtually at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 to learn about aquatic invasive species found in the James River.

Jamie Brunkow, the James River Association’s Director of River Ecology, and Alex McCrickard, the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources Aquatic Education Coordinator, will explore the impacts invasive flora and fauna have on the James River ecosystem. This program is associated with Richmond Invasive Species Awareness Week (RISAW), a week of programs intended to educate and empower our community to tackle the growing threat posed by invasive species to our local ecosystem.

Please note that participants have the option to attend in-person at the James A. Buzzard River Education Center (2825 Dock Street, Richmond, Virginia) or participate virtually via Zoom.

Advance registration is requested and interested participants can register HERE (link).
