For over 50 years, the James River Park System has inspired adventure, creativity, and a lasting connection to nature. This fall, the Friends of the James River Park invite you to celebrate the Park you love and to experience it anew.

Join us for Rooted & Wild, a vibrant community gathering to care for Richmond’s most treasured natural resource. Enjoy local art, live music, exceptional food and drinks, inspiring stories, and silent auctions—all in support of the Friends of the James River Park.

Featuring original works by regional artists inspired by the beauty of the James River Park System, every purchase, donation, and shared experience helps protect, preserve, and enhance this extraordinary natural landscape for generations to come. Over 48 hours, Rooted & Wild will feature:

• Outdoor & Creative Activations: Sunrise hike on the T-Pot, yoga sessions, plein air painting, and hands-on print workshops.

• Community Gatherings: A Thursday panel discussion over local coffee, a family film screening with food trucks, and VIP receptions.

• The Grand Finale: Our signature Friday evening celebration featuring 25+ local artists donating original works, regional food and drink, and our high-energy silent auction.
