RISAW 2026: Film Screening

Join us for our 3rd Annual RISAW Documentary Film Screening.

This year we will present Headwaters Down: Tidal River. Headwaters Down follows a team of filmmakers and friends on a 250 mile journey down the James River on canoes from its source to Richmond, VA. This film won Best VA Made Film at Richmond Int’l Film Festival, Grand Prize in the RVA Environmental Film Contest, and was an Official Selection at the Virginia Film Festival. We will screen Part Two of Headwaters down, Tidal River. Tidal River tells the story of the final 110 miles of the James, stretching from Richmond to the Chesapeake Bay. Tidal River focuses on the widest and most historic section of the James. A place of environmental disaster and recovery, the tidal waters of the James surprise the crew with their beauty, complexity, and wisdom.
