Clear invasive plants  in Pony Pasture to restore habitat and support wildlife!

Work with JRPS invasive plant management coordinator Laura Greenleaf to improve the ecological health of these important park system woodlands.

This  February we will focus on manual removal of invasive vine ground cover in two restoration areas near the rapids and near Rockfalls Creek at the park entrance.  Volunteers will not need to use tools.

Volunteers MUST:

  • Arrive on time for orientation and training and to reach the work site.
  • Dress appropriately in long-sleeves and long pants.  Yoga pants, leggings, and other styles that snag are discouraged.  Wear layers in cold weather – you will warm up quickly!
  • Bring a water bottle.
  • Tools and work gloves are provided.

Please, if you register for this event and then are unable to attend, cancel your registration on Hands-On or otherwise notify the project leader.

Meeting location will be in the parking lot, either near the bridge leading to the restroom facility or near the kiosk at the rapids.
