Pony Pasture Invasive Management & Habitat Restoration (Copy)

Help remove invasive plants and “free trees” in Pony Pasture to restore habitat and support wildlife!

Work with a JRPS invasive plant management coordinator to improve the ecological health of these important park system woodlands.  Register through Hands On Greater Richmond here.

This  winter we will work at different sites on different activities. For some activities, volunteers will not use any tools, for others they will use pruners, handsaws, and/or loppers.  In January we will be focusing on manual removal of invasive vine groundcover.

Volunteers MUST:

• Arrive on time for orientation and training and to reach the work site.
• Dress appropriately in long-sleeves and long pants.  Yoga pants, leggings, and other styles that snag are discouraged.  Wear layers in cold weather – you will warm up quickly!
• Bring a water bottle.
• Tools and work gloves are provided.

Please, if you register for this event and then are unable to attend, cancel your registration on Hands-On or otherwise notify the project leader.

Meeting location will be at different areas of the parking lot depending on the work site for the day. Look for project leader with tools and supplies near a pick-up truck.  Call or text 804-629-1229 to reach Laura Greenleaf, JRPS invasive plant management coordinator.
