Event Details

Join The James River Park System as we tackle removing invasive plants from Ancarrow’s Landing. We will be focusing on removing English Ivy, Winter Creeper and other invasive plants. Be a part of this initiative to help restore The James River Park’s natural habitat and tree canopy! Volunteers will be using small hand tools such as loppers and hand saws. All tools and gloves will be provided by JRPS. Please feel free to bring your favorite tool from home and a pair of gloves that you already own. Please bring water and a snack, wear closed toe shoes and dress comfortably as we will be outside for the duration of the project. Regardless of the weather, we strongly recommend wearing long sleeves and long pants to protect yourself from plants such as briars and poison ivy. Please bring your own sunscreen, bug spray, and any other items that make you more comfortable working outdoors. We look forward to working with you!
