There’s More Than One Way to Show Your Support
This year we worked with nearly 60 different corporate groups to bring in more than 800 volunteers to help clean up litter, paint over graffiti, work on landscaping, and complete other projects in the Park.
Nothing Royal about Invasive Trees
It took decades for over twenty Ailanthus altissima and Paulownia tomentosa trees to tower over Riverside Drive and Buttermilk Trail west of the 42nd Street entrance to the James River Park System. But it took just four days to take them down and prevent regrowth of these two invasive tree species.

River Safety Improvements
It has been nearly one year since the tragic accident at Bosher’s Dam that took the lives of two young women. In that time we have been hard at work supporting several initiatives aimed at reducing accidents and spreading information about how people can keep themselves safe.
Some Exciting Fiscal News
Between our time in the Park for work, and our time in the Park for fun, we found time to put together and approve our FY 24 budget. Together we will have raised and spent more than $600,000 towards our work to protect, expand, and enhance the Park.

Support Park Funding!
While we have been hard at work prepping for our upcoming projects, the Mayor has proposed $1,000,000 for Master Plan implementation as part of Richmond’s budget for next year.
Exciting Projects in the Park
At our monthly meeting last week, the Board of Directors approved spending a little over $75,000 to support two projects in the Park. Your donated dollars are being used in conjunction with City funding.
