Camera to Canvas Returns!

Dear Friends-

We are excited to be planning Camera to Canvas 2024, and we hope to see many of you there. The event this year will take place on September 13th at Willow Oaks Country Club. Right now we are in the process of inviting artists to choose the Bill Draper photos they would like to create paintings from, and we will auction them off at the event in September. Last year this event raised nearly $80,000 and we are hoping to beat that this year.

Camera to Canvas We are also actively recruiting sponsors for the 2024 event, which is what I wanted to write about today. Sponsors help offset the cost of operating the event and allow more of the funds raised to go back into the Park. Sponsors also have the opportunity to show their customers they support the James River Park System by having their brand displayed on all promotional materials for the event.

This year we are raising funds to support our mission to protect, expand, and enhance the James River Park System. We do that by providing direct support for JRPS Projects, expanding the capacity of Park staff, funding invasive species removal, and leading the collaborative implementation of the JRPS Master Plan. Our work is important, and for the Park to thrive, we need the support of Park users, corporations, and the philanthropic community. Camera to Canvas is an opportunity for us to celebrate the Park, and everything that makes it great.

Sponsorships start out at $1,000 and are open to individuals or corporations that want to associate their names with our mission. You can view all of the sponsorship opportunities and download a pdf here. Please contact me directly if you would like to know more. I can be reached by email at josh@jamesriverpark.org.

See you in the Park
