Hello, Friends of the James River Park-
It is that time of year again. Everything is green, the Park is getting busy, and we are starting to see the impact of the increase in litter and graffiti in some areas of the Park. As always, Friends of the James River Park is doing what we can to support the JRPS team in their efforts to maintain safe and clean parks.
This year we are excited to be able to support the City of Richmond Ranger Program and the James River Park System by hiring two part time seasonal Graffiti Response Field Technicians. Reporting directly to the Ranger Supervisor, this two-person team will work through the summer to document, remove, and spread awareness about vandalism in the Park. The ultimate goal is to reduce vandalism on rocks, trees, and Park structures. Their main focus will be around Belle Isle and the Dry Rocks, where the problem is worst, and they will work in other areas as the need arises.
