You may remember back in April when we hosted the Wood River Run. This was a family-friendly 5K that raised funds for both our organization and Passages Adventure Camp. The Wood River Run has grown larger and more successful each year, and we’ve raised a ton of funds for our programs. One of our sponsors for that race was the Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation.
Dominion is back with another fantastic opportunity to participate in a race and help our cause at the same time!
Registration opened today for the Dominion Energy Charity Classic 5k. This race is sponsored by Richmond-based Performance Food Group. The amazing thing about this race is that 100% of your registration fee will be donated to the charity of your choice. The top three charities with the most registrations will get a $1,000 bonus from Dominion!
That’s right: If you select Friends of the James River Park as you favored charity, we get 100% of your registration fee, and we could get an extra grand!
The race will be on September 26th (when it will certainly be cooler!) at Hardywood Brewery in West Creek. It’s the kickoff for the Dominion Energy Classic Golf Tournament. That tournament has raised over $11 million for charity since 2016. Hardywood is open to the public that day, and are encouraging folks to come to cheer their runners and support their charities. They’ll have food, live music, and their delicious craft beers!
