Penelope Davenport is a James River ParkStar

The James River Park is a tremendous asset and resource, but many in our region (and indeed around the world) don’t realize that it belongs to all of us, and it’s free to enjoy.

Penelope Davenport is the James River Park System Outdoor Education Program Supervisor, and she wants to change this.

She told us that her goal is to improve access to those who don’t take advantage of this jewel, be it from economic, social, or other barriers. One of her special passions is introducing young people to the Park and creating a new generation of environmental stewards who will carry her message forward.
