New Tool for Reporting Trail Issues

Hello Friends of the James River Park!

You might have missed an important update from a few weeks ago, so I wanted to share a little more detail in the hopes that more people will notice. The James River Park System trails have been added to Richmond’s 311 program. The 311 program is a centralized non-emergency hotline that serves as a valuable resource for its citizens. This program is revolutionizing the way residents interact with local government and ensuring that their concerns are addressed efficiently.

311 Trail appThe 311 program is designed to provide a convenient and accessible platform for residents to report non-emergency issues and seek information about city services. Whether it’s reporting potholes, graffiti, or requesting information about public transportation schedules, Richmond’s 311 program acts as a one-stop solution. Instead of navigating multiple departments and phone numbers, residents can simply dial 311 or access the online portal to connect with a knowledgeable representative who can provide assistance.

You can now report trail issues via the 311 mobile app, rva311.com, or by dialing 311 from your phone. You will need to provide as much information about the problem as you can in your report. The City’s trail crew will get a notification of the problem and will work to resolve it in a timely manner. The program is only for trail specific issues right now, and not other problems in the Park. You can still report other issues directly to us, and we will share them with the Park Operations team.

This is a great change in the way we report trail issues and I appreciate your involvement in helping us create a better JRPS.

See you in the Park – Josh
