Plan to join the Friends and Park Staff for our annual Winter Solstice celebration on Belle Island for a convivial observation of the time when the days once again start to grow longer. There will be cookies, hot beverages, a bonfire. Bring a poem to recite, a song to sing, a musical instrument and your holiday spirit.

We need to do more to instill a culture of sustainability in our Park users.
This Earth Day, we are launching a special campaign to rally support for increasing our capacity to support the James River Park System.
We have an immediate opportunity to expand the Park, and we need you to help us make it happen! The available parcel is a 4.5-acre piece of land, known as the Brander Street Property, that sits between Ancarrow’s Landing and I-95.
