As you likely know, we’ve grown the footprint of the James River Park System over the past year, and we’ll likely set another record for visitation. This means that the needs of Park staff and the scope of our work has to evolve.

We Have a New River Safety Program!
The WRIC River Watch program, sponsored by Friends of the James River Park, is designed to help spread awareness about river conditions and give Richmonders the tools they need to make good decisions about when and how to recreate on the James.

Help us Advocate for Increased Safety in the Park!
The Mayor’s office has proposed a James River Park System operating budget of a little over $1.1 Million for FY 23. It allows for the creation of a Park Ranger pilot program.
Did You Leave More than Footprints?
Folks, I am frustrated. It makes me sad to see that so many people that use the Park choose to leave behind permanent reminders of their presence in the form of graffiti.
