The Organization:
The James River Park System consists of approximately 745 acres of forested land in the city of Richmond along the James River. Staff and volunteers work year-round to remove invasive plants and create opportunity for native species to thrive.
The Event:
Join the James River Park System’s Invasive Species Management team in removing invasive plants and contributing to native habitat and biodiversity!
Leaders and volunteers will use hand pruners, loppers, and/or non-electric handsaws to free trees of invasive vines. Depending on weather and other factors, we may occasionally pivot to hand-removal of invasive ground cover or removing shrubs.
Tools, work gloves, and instructions will be provided by JRPS staff.
