The Organization:
The James River Park System consists of approximately 600 acres of forested land in the city of Richmond along the James River. Staff and volunteers work year-round to remove invasive plants and create opportunity for native species to thrive.
The Event:
Join the James River Park System’s Invasive Species Management team in removing invasive plants and contributing to native habitat and biodiversity!
Leaders and volunteers will meet at 10am on Sunday, March 29th, 2026. We will be using pruners, loppers, and/or non-electric handsaws to free trees of invasive vines. Depending on weather and other factors, we may occasionally pivot to hand-removal of invasive ground cover or removing shrubs.
