Park Hosts help maintain a culture of visitor support in the Park by providing directional information, sharing information about Park rules, and sharing important observations with JRPS Staff.

Visitor Center Hosts staff the Reedy Creek Visitor’s Center where they provide information about the Park and help enrich the visitor experience.
- Encourage guests access the Reedy Creek Visitor’s Center
- Provide basic trail, park, and river safety guidance
- Encourage voluntary compliance of park rules
- Collect visitors center counts and complete daily summaries
- Optional Offer public programs at Reedy Creek Visitor’s Center (animal encounters, story times, interpretive programs, etc)
River Safety Amabssadors help ensure that Park visitors have the information they need to stay safe while recreating on the James. These volunteers work at the various river access points within the Park when river conditions are especially dangerous for inexperienced users.

- Provide river safety guidance for park guests at river access points
- Huguenot Flatwater, Pony Pasture, Belle Isle (First Break), Reedy Creek
- Provide river maps, water bottles, free life jackets (when available)
- Encourage voluntary compliance of park rules
- Life jackets required over 5 feet
- Experts only at 9 feet
- No glass or alcohol permitted
- Water shoes recommended
- Offer positive, informative guidance to enhance visitor experience
