How does a guy from upstate New York end up in charge of Richmond’s biggest asset?
Like a lot of us, he came to Virginia to go to school and pretty much never left. Bryce Wilk went to the College of William & Mary and got his degree in Biology (with a minor in history – a valuable tool in Richmond). After a few gigs in his native New York, he realized he missed the Old Dominion, and came back down.
After working as a ranger at Lake Anna and Pocahontas State Parks, he took over for Nathan Burrell late in 2018.
In addition to being a great educator and all-around smart guy, he’s a Search and Rescue Team Member, certified Life Guard, and more.
In this video, he talks about the importance of maintaining and growing the Park, why he loves it, and the important role that YOU play.
