AUGUST 2018
Celebrating a Milestone

If you follow the work of the Friends, and of course we hope you do, you already know that our 2017-18 funding initiative is to raise capital required for the development of the JRPS master plan.

This plan will establish a work plan for sustaining the legacy of conservation and recreation provided by our award-winning park by clearly identifying tangible goals and ways to facilitate their implementation. We are pleased to announce that we have received commitments for the initial $250,000 required to support this effort. We want to thank these organizations for their contributions:
Beirne Carter Foundation
Friends of the James River Park
Dominion Foundation
New Market Corp
Richmond City Health District
Community Foundation
Venture Richmond
Mary Ann and Lou Wilson
4th District Council Member Kristen Larson
A special thanks to the Beirne Carter Foundation for their generous matching grant of $75,000, helping us raise the final $150,000 for the master plan.
The park is a great investment and it plays a vital role in making Richmond the best place to live, work and play.
