Conservation Easements Maps (CE Maps)

The City of Richmond’s Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Facilities initiated the development of parcel map for each property, prepared by the engineering consulting firm, based on recorded plats, property boundary records (meets and bounds) and other legal records.  The City records were also researched for recorded easements and other utility information, which was added to augment a number of the maps (these are labeled “revised” on the corresponding map).

There are a total of 15 “CE maps”; CE 0013 is a map intended to show all park conservation easements on a single page.  It is a helpful map, but it does not show the Riverside Meadows Greenspace Park on Riverside Drive between Huguenot Flatwater Park and Pony Pasture Park.

It is also noteworthy to mention that the names for each of these maps are based on the title of the property in the City deed books.  Not only are they archaic references (e.g. property transfer in 1942), but they do not relate to the common names for the parks, nor  do provide very useful information for helping to identify each parcel’s location.
